BIOGRAPHY

Within dance music’s long history, during the 90’s, there was the infamous Southern California rave culture where Jon E. Thin first cut his teeth as a young DJ earning praise as one of its outlaw warriors and standout talents. Playing events far and wide from rogue warehouses to deep desert sunrise sessions, Jon E. Thin always delivered and discovered where he was meant to share his brand of techno. As one of San Diego’s most admired DJs, he has held residencies at key underground events including Insomnia After-hours (L.A.), the legendary San Diego after-hours Romper-Room and has performed at festivals up and down the pacific northwest.

Throughout his journey, Jon E. has always found a way to continue and remain relevant, and he’s been leading the way as a maverick ever since. By sustaining the same energy and awe inspiring presence that he started with, Jon E. Thin is a SoCal rave icon and a pillar of San Diego’s dedicated underground scene. What’s most intriguing is his ability to adapt and while keeping that “rave on” spirit that thrives in today’s PLUR environments. So it’s safe to say that we can thank Jon E. Thin for keeping that spirit alive by inspiring a whole generation of DJs that are now present in Techno’s continuing culture.

With all of the well deserved accolades he received as a DJ, it was only fitting for him to evolve as an artist and producer in his own right. So in the wake of Covid era shutdowns, Jon E. dug deep into carving his way as a burgeoning producer and in 2021 he made a brooding debut with his Reflections EP on Techniche Recordings which remained in the Beatport Top 100 Techno releases for several weeks. Since then, further releases have received support from some of Techno’s top jocks including Ilario Alicante, Marco Faraone, Cristian Varela, Danny Tenaglia, Paco Osuna,Uakoz & more. Moving forward, we can expect newer material that will no doubt make him a standout artist/producer in tandem with the respected DJ ambassador of Techno’s still thriving, rave spirit.
