JON E. THIN

Within dance music’s long history, during the 90’s, there was the infamous Southern California rave culture where Jon E. Thin first cut his teeth as a young DJ earning praise as one of its outlaw warriors and standout talents. Playing events far and wide from rogue warehouses to deep desert sunrise sessions, Jon E. Thin always delivered and discovered where he was meant to share his brand of techno.

As one of San Diego’s most admired DJs, he has held residencies at key underground events including Insomnia After-hours (L.A.), the legendary San Diego after-hours Romper-Room and has performed at festivals up and down the pacific northwest. Throughout his journey, Jon E. has always found a way to continue and remain relevant, and he’s been leading the way as a maverick ever since. By sustaining the same energy and awe inspiring presence that he started with, Jon E. Thin is a SoCal rave icon and a pillar of San Diego’s dedicated underground scene. What’s most intriguing is his ability to adapt and while keeping that “rave on” spirit that thrives in today’s PLUR environments. So it’s safe to say that we can thank Jon E. Thin for keeping that spirit alive by inspiring a whole generation of DJs that are now present in Techno’s continuing culture.

With all of the well deserved accolades he received as a DJ, it was only fitting for him to evolve as an artist and producer in his own right. So in the wake of Covid era shutdowns, Jon E. dug deep into carving his way as a burgeoning producer and in 2021 he made a brooding debut with his Reflections EP on Techniche Recordings which remained in the Beatport Top 100 Techno releases for several weeks. Since then, further releases have received support from some of Techno’s top jocks including Ilario Alicante, Marco Faraone, Cristian Varela, Danny Tenaglia, Paco Osuna,Uakoz & more. Moving forward, we can expect newer material that will no doubt make him a standout artist/producer in tandem with the respected DJ ambassador of Techno’s still thriving, rave spirit.
TOKEONETOKA
A dragon breathes fire burning adversity in its path and the ashes left behind are now purified. And like the dragon, Tokeonetoka breathes paths of techno purity leaving indelible marks in her wake. Searing and soaring in flowable fashion, Tokeonetoka is an unforgettable name for a remarkable talent. Within a relatively short span of 4 years, Tokeonetoka has made an impactful impression on her local San Diego based scene and has effortlessly expanded into nearby territories such Los Angeles, Arizona and Colorado. For audiences who’ve witnessed her “mixing witchcraft”, it’s no surprise to see her rise steadfastly as one of So Cal’s leading sonic navigators.

Recruited by collectives such as No Expectations, 1904 Kollektiv, Connect SD, and most recently Techniche, Tokeonetoka holds court as matriarch to those who are willing to elevate Techno’s culture, community and craft. Mixing and matching raw, driving grooves with hypnotic rhythms is where she reigns effortlessly and tirelessly to the uninitiated. In darkened environments such as warehouses, tunnels, intimate or expansive nightclubs, or outdoor arenas, Tokeonetoka is always primed to entertain crowds from mild to massive with her infectious intensity and presence. She’s simply a “badass” when it comes to fiercely forging her flames and smoke that we breathe in as “Techno.” Don’t stand too close to her fire, you might get burned.
